CJR WAS CREATED TO ADDRESS THE ECONOMIC, SYSTEMIC AND CULTURAL DISPARITIES THAT EXISTS TO ARREST DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE BLACK SAME GENDER LOVING COMMUNITY. A COMMUNITY THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A VIBRANT ADDITION TO THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY.

AS A COMMUNITY THAT IS DEFINED BY THE INTERSECTION OF RACE, SEXUAL IDENTITY, HOMO AND TRANS PHOBIAS WE ARE NOT ALWAYS PRIVY TO OPPORTUNITIES THAT OTHERS TAKE FOR GRANTED. WE ARE PROUD TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND WELCOMING SPACE FOR BLACK SAME GENDER LOVING LGBTQ+.

                BLACK LIVES MATTER!

CIVIL RIGHTS ARE GURANTEED TO U.S. CITIZENS BY THE 13TH AND 14TH AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION AND BY ACTS OF CONGRESS AND YET THEY ARE TESTED EVERYDAY.

CJR STANDS WITH OUR BLACK SAME GENDER LOVING LGBTQ+ COMMUNITIES AND OUR CIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

WE ARE THANKFUL FOR OUR STAFF, ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS WHO FIGHT FOR JUSTICE AND EQUALITY EVERYDAY.

WITH THE DEATH OF SUPREME COURT JUSTICE RUTH BADER GINSBURG THE RIGHTS OF LGBTQ+ PERSONS ARE AT STAKE.

DUE  TO THE NEWLY CONFIRMED SUPREME COURT JUSTICE THE THREAT TO FREEDOM HAS BECOME CLOSER TO REALITY. THE CURRENT COURT IS THOUGHT TO BE THE MOST CONSERVATIVE COURT IN MODERN HISTORY.

WE MOURN THE LIVES THAT OUR COMMUNITIES HAVE LOST DUE TO VIOLENCE. BLACK LIVES MATTER. THEIR LIVES MATTERED. THEY WERE REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL LIVES.

JAMES BALDWIN

BALDWIN WAS ONE OF THE  GREATEST WRITERS OF THE 20th CENTURY. HE BODLY EXPLORED RACIAL AND SOCIAL ISSUES MAINLY FOCUSING ON THE BLACK EXPERIENCE IN AMERICA. BALDWIN DID NOT BITE HIS TONGUE WHEN DISCUSSING THE ATROCITIES WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY DUE TO SYSTEMIC RACISM. ON AUGUST 2, 2004, BALDWIN'S ACHIEVEMENTS  WERE RECOGNIZED POSTHUMOUSLY BY THE U.S. POST OFFICE BLACK HERITAGE STAMP SERIES, ON WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY.

"To be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage almost all the time."
